What I take:
- fics where a character has a tattoo (Muggle or magical; temporary or not) or piercing;
- fics where somebody writes/draws on somebody else’s skin.
Won’t do:
- Bill’s earring;
- just playing with needles (either self-inflicting pain or SM, which will go to the needles list) that doesn’t lead to wearing jewellery;
- Dark mark doesn’t count;
- just tracing patterns on/tickling somebody’s skin with a feather don’t count.
- no WIPs that have only a chapter or two written;
- no drabbles;
- do not bring fics you haven’t read;
- do not bring fics you didn’t like;
- do not bring fics the authors of which show no grammar or spelling skill even if you liked them;
- do me a courtesy, please, do not leave only a link. I’d be really grateful if you tell me (besides the title and author) whether the fic is a WIP or completed, what the pairings and the rating are; who’s tattooed or pierced. You’ll spare me hours of rushed reading!

These are NOT my recs; it’s just a collection of thematic links.
Stories are divided into four groups:
1. Tattoo (Muggle or magical; temporary or permanent). Stories go here, too, if the process was called getting tattoo, as opposed to drawing, or if a magical drawing remains as a permanent design on skin.
2. Drawing and writing on skin not leading to the picture being permanent.
3. Piercing.
4. Mixed (mostly both tattoo and piercing).

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Dark Lords, by Abstract Concept (the_con_cept) #
Snape/Harry, mentions of Harry/Draco, R, short. Summary: “Harry is the new Dark Lord. He rules the world with a compassionate and well-intentioned fist. Snape takes the phrase, ‘Oh, fuck the boss!’ rather literally. Humour/Romance/Smut.” Harry tattoos Severus and all the former Death Eaters. Also tattoo!sex.

PG; no pairing; one-shot. Summary: “Every picture tells a story, especially the ones Sirius carries with him always. (Slash implied, nothing explicit)” Sirius commemorates important points in his life with tattoos. After Sirius’ death, Harry wants one also.
Amalgam, by dacro
Harry/Draco; PG-13. Novel-length. Summary: “After Voldemort falls, Harry and Draco return to Hogwarts to teach. When a metal wand and a student with no past put the school in danger of a vampire attack, it’s up to Harry, Draco, and the rest of Hogwart’s staff (new and old) to survive the day, save the school, solve a mystery, and get lost in all the sexual tension. (Like a Scooby-Doo episode–except with Parseltongue!)” Harry and Draco have detailed, magical designs on them after having been through a sort of magical marriage.
Amulet of Time series, by Luna the Moonmonster NR
No idea about the pairings; PG-13, epic. The order of reading the series is at the author’s page (link above). After Harry gets badly scarred during part 2, he also gets a tattoo covering most of the scars on his back: he at first gets a raven encircled by a snake biting its own tail (Ouroboros) and later on adds a gryphon below that.

Slight Harry/Ginny, PG-13, WIP. Summary: “6th Year, following OoTP. Tired of the way Dumbledore and the Order treat him, and ready to face his destiny, Harry dedicates long hours to muggle and magical training to take the fight to Voldemort for a change.” Harry gets three magical tattoos, a grim, a stag and a lily. The stag gives added power to his Patronus, making it golden and able to actually destroy Dementors. There are certainly magical powers in the other two tattoos also but it’s known yet what they are.
