Themed list: therapy
Posted on August 25, 2007
Filed Under HP themed lists |
What I take:
- anything to do with soul or mind healing, Muggle or magical, as long as it’s shown in detail or plays a really important part in the fic;
- fics where one of the characters works as a therapist (shrink)/soul or mind healer and if we can see how they work;
- fics where characters undergo counseling, therapy, psychoanalysis or mind/soul healing, except psychiatry if it’s more medicine application than healing by talking. Such fics go to the Mediwizardry list.
King Draco’s Code, or What I Don’t Take:
- no fics where the accent is on the medicine for the body rather than mind/soul; they go to the Mediwizardry list.
- no fics where counseling, therapy, psychoanalysis or mind/soul healing is mentioned but not shown in detail or doesn’t play an important part;
- please, no fics where Snape/Hermione/whoever else plays a part of therapist without actually being one (as in, professionally) or when somebody just helps somebody else by listening to them talk about their problems. Firstly, this list is part of the ‘jobs arc.’ Secondly, I’d like to remain within somehow definable rules, which we’ll breach and plunge into chaos if I start taking them;
- no WIPs that have only a chapter or two written;
- no drabbles;
- do not bring fics that you haven’t read;
- do not bring fics that you didn’t like;
- do not bring fics the authors of which show no grammar or spelling skill even if you liked them;
- do me a courtesy, please, do not leave only a link. I’d be really grateful if you tell me (besides the title and author) whether the fic is a WIP or completed, what the pairings and the rating are; who works as a Mediwizard/witch and what kind of work they do. You’ll spare me hours of rushed reading!
Please note that on this list, the topic of therapy and/or mental illness is looked upon both seriously and humorously, positively and negatively. Please, remember that the authors are entitled to have their own opinion, as are you.
The fics are sorted in alphabetical order by TITLE (articles excluded).
Special marks:
# - liked
## - loved
NR - have not read
new - added in the last month or so
